Chapter 106 Glory in Writing
Chapter 106 Glory in Writing
"Dear students, our school's drawing competition is about to begin! Is everyone ready?" The art teacher stood on the podium, her eyes scanning the eager faces in the classroom, an encouraging smile on her face.
Liu Yixin sat in the front row of the classroom, her back straight, her eyes sparkling with confidence and anticipation.
Li Shiqing, who was next to her, gently nudged her and whispered, "Yixin, I think you're the one who will win this time! Your painting skills are simply unbeatable."
Liu Yixin returned a bright smile and whispered, "Shi Qing, don't flatter me. I'm actually quite nervous."
The competition bell rang crisply, and the entire classroom fell silent instantly, save for the soft scratching of pens on drawing paper. Liu Yixin took a deep breath, picked up her paintbrush, and her gaze became focused and determined. Her vision was a beautiful spring scene on campus, with tender green grass, colorful flowers, and students laughing and playing on the playground. Each stroke seemed to breathe life into the picture; colors intertwined and blended on the paper, gradually sketching a vibrant campus world.
Sitting in the back row, Li Shiqing would occasionally look up in Liu Yixin's direction. Although she wasn't participating in the competition herself, she felt even more nervous than the contestants. Liu Yixin would sometimes furrow her brows, and sometimes nod slightly, as if she were having a silent conversation with the painting she was working on.
Time ticked by, and the other students were all engrossed in their work, filling the classroom with a tense yet enthusiastic atmosphere. Some students were painting majestic mountains and rivers, attempting to showcase the grandeur of nature with powerful brushstrokes; others were focusing on portraits, meticulously depicting the expressions of their subjects.
"There are only ten minutes left, everyone hurry up and finish your artwork," the art teacher gently reminded her. Liu Yixin quickened her pace, carefully outlining the details of the flowers, making each petal appear delicate and vibrant; she also added lively lines to the figures of her classmates, as if one could see them laughing and running in the picture.
Finally, the bell rang, signaling the end of the competition. The students put down their paintbrushes, some letting out a long sigh of relief, others still lingering, looking at their artwork with a touch of reluctance. Liu Yixin leaned back in her chair, a tired but satisfied smile on her face.
Next came the tense judging process. The teachers gathered around each piece of artwork, carefully examining and discussing them. Liu Yixin clenched her fists tightly. Li Shiqing came over, took her hand, and said, "Don't worry, I believe in you."
"Now, I'd like to announce the winners of this drawing competition!" The art teacher walked up to the podium with the list in hand, and the classroom fell so quiet you could hear a pin drop. "Third place goes to..." The teacher read out a few names, and the winning students went up to receive their awards, their faces beaming with pride. "Second place goes to..." The atmosphere in the classroom grew increasingly tense.
"And the first place winner of this competition—" the teacher paused deliberately, his gaze sweeping over the students' expectant faces, "is Liu Yixin!"
Liu Yixin stood up excitedly, hardly believing her ears. Li Shiqing was the first to rush forward, giving her a big hug and shouting excitedly, "I knew it! I knew you could do it!"
Liu Yixin hugged Li Shiqing tightly, her eyes glistening with joyful tears: "Shiqing, without your constant encouragement, I might not be so confident."
The students gathered around to congratulate Liu Yixin. "Liu Yixin, your drawing is amazing! The campus scenery looks so real."
"Yes, you deserve the championship. Tell us how you drew it."
Liu Yixin smiled a little shyly: "Actually, I just drew the scenes we usually see and feel at school. I want to leave those beautiful moments on paper."
Li Shiqing teased from the side, "Don't be modest. Could an ordinary person draw this well? You have talent combined with hard work, a perfect combination!"
At this moment, a classmate asked curiously, "Liu Yixin, do you have any secrets to drawing? I always feel like my drawings are not quite right."
Liu Yixin thought for a moment and said, "Actually, there's no secret. You just need to observe the details in life more and be bold in trying different colors and brushstrokes. Don't be afraid if you make a mistake sometimes; it might turn into an unexpected effect."
The students nodded in agreement, as if they had been inspired.
Li Shiqing suddenly said, "Yixin, you won the championship, shouldn't you treat us to something to celebrate?"
Liu Yixin smiled and said, "Sure, no problem! How about we go get ice cream together after school?"
"That's awesome!" the students cheered.
On the way to buy ice cream, everyone was still having a lively discussion about the drawing competition.
Li Shiqing asked, "Yixin, are you planning to become a painter in the future?"
Liu Yixin tilted her head and thought for a moment: "Actually, I haven't decided yet, but I really love drawing. As long as I can keep drawing, I'll be very happy. I want to be a makeup artist, mainly because I'm learning to draw so I can learn makeup in the future."
Another classmate said, "I think you'll definitely become a master. Don't forget about us classmates when you do!"
Liu Yixin smiled and said, "How could that be? We're classmates, and no matter what we do in the future, we'll cheer each other on."
Upon arriving at the ice cream shop, the students sat together, enjoying delicious ice cream and sharing their joy. Looking at her classmates, Liu Yixin felt a surge of warmth and emotion. In this art competition, she not only won honors but also gained the sincere friendship and support of her classmates.
As for Li Shiqing, she was proud of Liu Yixin and secretly resolved to work hard to find something she loved and was good at, so that she could shine like Liu Yixin.
