Chapter 107 Slaying the White King
Chapter 107 Slaying the White King
“Ye-kun…” Erii reached out and tugged at Ye Jingchen’s collar, “I’m so sleepy.”
Ye Jingchen watched as white scales grew on Erii's cheeks. He gently ruffled Erii's maple-red hair. "Erii, hang in there and keep watching. Don't fall asleep."
He lifted Erii up by the waist, placed his feet on Mumei, and slowly descended towards the bottom of the Red Well.
A huge cocoon wrapped in white silk threads appeared at the bottom of the well!
These white threads covered the bottom of the well, extending outwards instantly with the flow of water, drawing nourishment from everything around them!
A tremendous change has taken place throughout Japan!
The vegetation began to grow rapidly, becoming incredibly tall and lush, quickly forming a protective layer.
Gray smoke began to appear in the sky above Mount Fuji, vaguely giving the impression that scalding lava might erupt at any moment.
The sea began to roar, and surging waves crashed against the seawall.
The sky was covered with dark clouds, and a light drizzle began to fall.
Thunder roared through the clouds, its thunderous roar shaking the very core of the soul.
The anomaly began, as if foreshadowing something for the world.
Holding Erii, Ye Jingchen walked to the white silk cocoons formed by Herzog and easily cut them open with his nameless weapon.
A strong heartbeat came from inside the cocoon, like someone beating a leather drum inside!
"Stop!"
A woman's voice came from inside the cocoon!
Incomparably noble and majestic!
The White Monarch completely suppressed Herzog's consciousness!
"Little bug, have you forgotten me so quickly?" Ye Jingchen's speed increased as he swung the Nameless Blade!
Herzog's face quickly came into view!
That face no longer looked old; its brows gleamed with the fortitude of a Tsarist nobleman from the polar bear kingdom, and its high-bridged nose, like a Hermes sculpture, and the white monarch's authority made this aged body regain its youth.
Herzog opened his eyes, his golden pupils with gold edges and blue irises glaring at Ye Jingchen. He opened his mouth and uttered a woman's voice: "Insolence! Word of Power - Judgment!"
Even in her weakened state of being in a cocoon, she can still unleash her Word of Power!
An indescribable power transformed into an invisible sword of judgment, descending from the sky!
Erii sensed this terrifying power and the familiar Word of Power. She instantly opened her eyes, and the obscure, Sinnoh-like language slowly emanated from her lips: "Word of Power: Judgment..."
"No need, please trust me." Ye Jingchen extended his index finger and touched Erii's lips.
Erii looked into Ye Jingchen's eyes and smiled, "I have always believed in you, Ye-kun."
Ye Jingchen took out a helmet with obsidian gold trim. The helmet's forehead guard was inlaid with a red crystal, which contained the pure dragon blood of the Black Supreme, Nidhogg's heart blood.
The entire piece is engraved with grooves containing gilded dragon patterns, radiating an ultimate brilliance.
Ye Jingchen put Nidhogg's helmet on his own head, and the black scepter descended instantly.
"Word of Power: Commandments!"
This is a powerful incantation embedded in the helmet by the Dragon High Priest (White King) and the top alchemist (King of Bronze and Fire), designed to highlight the supreme majesty of the Black Sovereign.
The activation of the Word of Power: Commandment was like the tolling of a heavy bronze bell!
The indescribable, invisible sword of judgment that had been hanging overhead vanished in an instant!
Everything quieted down, and all the noise subsided like the tide.
Herzog—no, the White Sovereign—felt that familiar aura, and his half-human body, encased in its cocoon, began to tremble. "Nidhogg! How could you possibly have His helmet? How could you?"
The white monarch reached out and tore open its own cocoon, emerging from within!
She had not yet fully formed her dragon body; only her limbs had grown dragon claws, and there were small wing-like bones on her back. The white scales had only spread to her chest.
She reached out and touched the tip of her tail, where the Kusanagi Sword had grown. She took the sword down; it was even stronger than the Kusanagi Sword of the Yamata no Orochi. It was the Kusanagi Sword formed from the remains of a saint and the blood of the White King!
Battles between kings have always been nothing but swords clashing and flesh and blood charging into the fray!
True Word Power and Commandments are not simply about being unable to use Word Power, but rather about achieving stability and conservation of all things in the realm where both sides are in equilibrium.
Word magic has always been a technique used by dragons to make life easier; true combat has always relied on alchemy and the physical body.
Ye Jingchen gently put Erii down, looking into her red eyes, "Wait for me."
"Okay." Erii smiled, her eyes crinkling into crescent moons, and nodded slightly.
Ye Jingchen gripped the nameless object, glanced at the white monarch, and twisted his neck, making a cracking sound.
White Lady took the initiative. She was the high priestess of the dragon race, and she had rich combat experience and superb life-or-death skills.
Ye Jingchen also moved, his memories of countless battles across worlds surging forth like a tide. The terrifying killing intent was dark red, bursting forth from his body and surrounding him, almost tangible.
Swords clashed, and Nameless and Ama no Kusanagi cut each other apart.
They went back and forth, neither giving an inch.
The white silk carpet beneath their feet exploded like a long string of firecrackers the moment the two clashed!
“This ruthless swordplay is definitely not Nidhogg,” the White Monarch mused to himself. “Odin? Norton? Hela? More like Norton, no, none of them…”
With each swing of her sword in attack and parry, the white-clad monarch's gaze shifted from confidence to seriousness. She glared at Ye Jingchen, demanding, "Who exactly are you?"
The only response to the White Monarch was the nameless creature that slashed at him.
The Nidhogg's heart blood within the crystal embedded in the helmet was gradually burning; the stronger the two sides were, the faster the heart blood burned.
As one of the helmet's creators, the White Monarch knew this secret perfectly well; she was waiting, she was in no hurry.
The White Sovereign is the queen of the spiritual realm, a realm in which she can rival Nidhogg.
At the same level of combat skills and experience, neither Ye Jingchen nor the White Monarch could quickly defeat the other.
It's like two top chess players locked in a stalemate on the chessboard, a duel at Mount Hua!
Ye Jingchen realized the White Monarch's intention, and he swung the Nameless Sword in his hand even more rapidly, taunting, "The high and mighty White Emperor has actually learned to compromise? Well, that's right, you were just a clown who failed in his rebellion."
The white monarch swiftly raised her azure cloud to block the nameless strike. She ignored Ye Jingchen's words, staring intently at the supreme blood, which swayed like wine, within the crystal embedded in her helmet.
Four-fifths of the blood had already burned!
The remaining one-fifth of the blood was visibly burning rapidly.
Finally, the fire burned out, the crystal dimmed, and the gilded dragon patterns on the helmet ceased to glow.
Words of Power and Precepts: The domain begins to collapse.
The white-clad monarch couldn't help but smile, her golden-rimmed blue eyes meeting Ye Jingchen's.
"Word of Power: Dream Eater!"
It was a familiar feeling; the last time Ye Jingchen felt this way was when Kazama Ruri gave him this feeling.
Ye Jingchen felt a powerful suction force pulling him toward that spiritual realm.
A smile crept onto his lips...
