Chapter 536 The Cold and Pure Human Buddha Child VS The Adorable and Devoted Demon Cat Emperor [212]
Chapter 536 The Cold and Pure Human Buddha Child VS The Adorable and Devoted Demon Cat Emperor [212]
The snow that fell on earth has completely melted.
The temple's outline gleamed in the early sunshine, and the melting snow dripped from the eaves like tears that eventually fell into the mortal world, quietly moistening it.
Inside the main hall, the monks' chanting was melodious and ethereal, gradually fading into silence as the sunlight climbed the steps.
Suddenly, a footstep slowly entered the hall, as if it had traveled through the ages.
The monks looked over silently, then nodded in greeting.
Shiga carried Jiang Xiyu's original form into the room, walked to the Buddha, and gently placed him on the prayer mat.
Jiang Xiyu stepped onto the prayer mat, his gaze sweeping over the monks in the hall, finally lingering on Jinglian for a moment.
When Jinglian saw him looking over, her condition improved, and she smiled back with relief.
Shijia's cold gaze swept over them, his eyes gesturing to Jinglian.
Jinglian immediately understood, stepped forward, and dismissed the monks in the main hall.
After the monks dispersed, Shiga looked down at Jiang Xiyu and nodded gently.
A faint golden light appeared, and Jiang Xiyu's figure appeared beside Shijia.
After he woke up, he stayed in the Buddha cave for a period of time. During that time, Shiga silently stayed by his side. Only today, when Shiga saw that his body had almost recovered, was he willing to take him out of the Buddha cave.
I never expected that after leaving the Buddhist cave, I would end up here instead of in a meditation room.
However, since the morning classes had already ended, Jiang Xiyu was somewhat confused as to why Shijia had brought him here.
The temple was filled with the fragrance of incense and the prayer flags fluttered in the breeze.
Before the altar, Shiga knelt down in front of the Buddha statue with his palms together, performing a grand ceremony.
Jiang Xiyu was stunned for a moment, then subconsciously knelt down with him and bowed three times.
Jinglian stood quietly to the side and uttered "Amitabha," her voice heavy with emotion.
Amidst the shimmering light and fragrant mist, Shika knelt before the Buddha, his body seemingly enveloped in a soft halo.
He looked up at the enshrined Buddha, his expression open and devout, as if kneeling in his own heart.
The surroundings were silent, and time seemed to stand still at that moment.
Jiang Xiyu didn't know what he was going to do. She glanced at him and then at the Buddha statue with its eyes lowered.
Finally, in the long silence, he looked at Jinglian with some confusion.
Jinglian sighed inwardly, stepped forward, and asked, "Buddha's disciple, are you truly determined?"
Shiga nodded slightly, his face showing no emotion whatsoever.
He looked at the Buddha and expressed his gratitude for the Buddha's compassion.
His clasped hands and upright back silently and devoutly proclaimed his Tao and his desires.
Since one is in the Buddhist order, desires and attachments naturally arise.
The disciple wishes to form a spiritual bond with him, and also a worldly bond with him.
I cannot do what Venerable Kasyapa did, nor can I form a connection of liberation solely with him.
No matter how many reincarnations we go through, I am willing to stay in the world where he is, and help each other through life.
Not only do I want to give him compassionate love, but I also want to be entangled with him in worldly love.
In this world, some find salvation in the sea of love, while others cultivate themselves within it, never forgetting enlightenment.
Each person's path is different. Since the disciple's path has led to the Buddha's teachings, if he cannot enter the world to accompany him, it will eventually become a karmic entanglement from past lives.
He had become attached to worldly things and longed to be with him every moment. Even if he were to turn to ashes, he could never let go.
On the very day his soul was separated from his body, he chose to convert to his faith.
He was in the mortal realm, and the mortal realm was his path of cultivation.
With him by my side, I feel the most tender Dao heart of my disciple.
After a long while, Shiga bowed his head and kowtowed once more, finally saying softly, "Disciple Shiga has completed his meritorious deeds in this journey in the human world."
"I wish to dedicate all my merits to the Pure Land, to help those suffering in the world, and only ask to be reunited with him in this mortal realm..."
He was completely unable to detach himself from the seven emotions and six desires, greed, anger, ignorance, and love.
In the past, he wanted to guide him into Buddhism, but in reality, he didn't want him to give his attention to others.
Every Buddhist admonition he gave himself was, in fact, a way of secretly nurturing his selfish desire to believe that he could only belong to Buddhism and only belong to himself.
The so-called traces around him, the so-called human world he experienced, were nothing more than his desire, under his indulgence, to secretly possess memories that belonged only to each other.
The chanting of scriptures and the burning of incense continue unabated, and the banners flutter in the wind.
Prayer should be for all living beings, but because he is by my side, I see only him and not the people.
All these factors, including the hidden obsessions and desire for control, finally set off like a raging fire after being regained.
He willingly embraced this cause and effect, finding joy even in being trapped in this mortal world.
He wanted him, and he wanted to give him his all.
However, staying in a Buddhist temple still comes with many constraints.
The kasaya is meant to be kept away from the secular world, and the disciple does not wish to defile it, nor does he wish to cause him to sin before the Buddha because of him.
He only wanted to experience this world with him.
Shiga closed his eyes slightly, kowtowing before the Buddha for a long time. His tone was clear and cold, yet heavy as a thousand pounds: "Disciple has found his own path of cultivation. Today I request to leave the Buddhist order."
Thousands of lotus lanterns, their smoke curling upwards.
Through the hazy, ever-present incense smoke, the Buddha's compassionate eyes seemed blurred.
With a mixture of compassion and helplessness, he watched as his disciple struggled to sever his worldly ties.
Jiang Xiyu was completely stunned and stood there.
As he listened to what Shiga said, his hands, which were hanging on his knees, clenched tightly until his knuckles turned white and his palms stung, yet he still could not believe it.
Shiga was actually going to leave the monastic life for his sake...
Jiang Xiyu couldn't even bear to think about it; her heart was pounding wildly.
He stared blankly at Shiga, opened his mouth, but found his mind completely blank, and he had no idea what to say.
Jinglian, however, seemed to have known all along. Apart from the exclamation she heard with her own ears, she did not show much shock on her face.
Such is the way of things; he knew this day would come sooner or later.
Little did they expect that the two would experience such a painful separation and death along the way.
Now that the Buddhist disciple has been found again, it can be said that all suffering has come to an end.
Jinglian saw everything and felt that if even an outsider like herself was so moved, then the Buddhist disciple must have already resolved not to change.
Since coming into this world, the Buddhist disciple has never lived for himself. This time, let him live for himself for once.
Jinglian stepped forward, lit three sticks of incense, and after asking for instructions before the Buddha, stood before Shijia.
He didn't say much, he just slightly raised his hand.
The next moment, the robe on Shiga's body and the Buddha's heart between his eyebrows began to rise and dissipate like flowing light, shimmering with fiery colors.
Amidst the glittering light and glistening tears, Jiang Xiyu gazed silently at him.
Everything around him seemed to dissipate like smoke, and he finally saw his own reflection clearly in Shiga's eyes.
this person……
For him, she suffered endless torment in love and forgot her own life in the sea of suffering.
In the end, she even had to leave the monastery and drown in the human world for him.
Jiang Xiyu felt a mix of pain and sorrow, a profound sense of both distress and deep emotion. Finally, as if unable to bear it any longer, he straightened up from his kneeling cushion, abruptly embraced Shiga tightly before the Buddha, and choked out in a hoarse voice, "Master..."
Shiga caught him, and after a long while, he closed his eyes and said gently, "Cat, take me with you..."
This time, I'm not asking you to stay, but rather, I'm asking you to take me away...
