Chapter 9 Don't bother me, I'm barbecuing.
Optimus Prime looked at Rosa: "Are you planning to stay at the base to help out, or go out on missions with us?"
Rosa paused for a moment, then thought about it. In truth, she didn't know what to choose. On one hand, she actually preferred to live a life of leisure, not wanting to do anything, especially not dangerous work.
On the other hand, she felt it wouldn't be right for her not to do something on someone else's turf, whether it was logistics or maintenance, she wanted to do more. But what she was best at was fighting!
The final decision was to make Rosa a warrior.
Once things have recovered somewhat, try to have Rosa participate in any easy missions, while having other experienced people guide you to prevent any unexpected situations.
That works, but...
Are they really not just imagining things?
But I'll still need to get myself some armor to block out the sun; it really does affect me.
Rosa didn't want to expose her weaknesses, but she remembered the armor that was left on the old soldier.
I wore it for a long time back then, and it seems I can modify it a little. I can use some scraps to fill it in to protect it from the sun. But I also need a reason to wear it so that it doesn't look too out of place. Hmm, maybe I can wear it on my first mission, citing my relatively weak armor.
"Aren't you equipped with any weapons?" Ratchet looked at Rosa. Generally speaking, whether they are Autobots or Decepticons, they have two options for having dedicated weapons: carry them externally or use a transformation device to carry them on their person, transforming to use them whenever needed.
Since no one has seen Rosa carrying any additional weapons, and we know she doesn't have transformation gears, it seems she might not have equipped them.
Rosa paused for a moment, then pulled her hand back into the cone-shaped arm, from which a knife emerged.
The Autobots looked on with a mixture of confusion and surprise, but they all turned to look at the ambulance, their eyes conveying the same message.
(Didn't you say she didn't have any transforming gears?)
The ambulance was also stunned, but then it suddenly remembered Rosa's 'transformation'—which involved simply opening the bottom of her cone-shaped arms to push or retract things without actually transforming—and realized that the transformation of her arm weapons probably didn't rely on transforming gears.
It may just be some simple replacement; she is still an untransformed being.
"That might not be driven by transforming gears." Ratchet sighed, and the other Autobots realized that Rosa's 'transformation' was too rudimentary. If it could truly transform, it wouldn't just stick things out like that; rather, the parts would move and shift in a regular pattern.
A slightly awkward laugh
the next day--
Today was another day of cleaning the lobby at the base, when I saw an ambulance hurriedly calling Rosa over for help on the inside line.
When she arrived, she saw the other Autobots who had gone out to search for energy sources emerging from the land bridge.
Something seemed to have happened. The ambulance rushed over, only instructing the driver to "keep an eye on the base," before crossing the land bridge with the other Autobots gathered at the base and disappearing from sight. Rosa stood there, filled with doubt and unease. She didn't know what had happened, but the serious expression on the ambulance's face revealed the gravity of the situation.
While waiting for their return, Rosa didn't sit idle. Before the ambulance left, it gave her a brief lesson on how to use the base's various equipment, including activating the land bridge and positioning.
When they returned, the atmosphere was somber, followed by devastating news: Over-the-Mountain had died.
They're late...
Only a corner of the aircraft that flew over the mountain was visible at the scene, and then the ambulance detected that the aircraft had lost vital signs.
They came to a patch of yellow sand and buried the last piece of Flying Mountain's body. Everyone was mourning him, including Rosa.
“Cliffhanger has perished, but anger should not cloud our judgment. Today, only five of us Autobots remain on Earth, and we must remember all that Cybertron has to offer.” Optimus Prime looked at the others around him.
"For the Autobots, and for humanity, in search of refuge in various galaxies."
Arcee slowly walked forward from behind, holding a horn left behind by Flying Over Mountain before its death.
Everyone's face was filled with sadness.
"We must live on for our lost comrades..." Arcee slowly placed the things she had left behind after flying over the mountain on the ground, amidst the swirling yellow sand, in the afterglow of the setting sun, in a sea of orange.
The horn slowly lay on the ground, signifying that Overmount was dead, but even in death he could not return to his homeland Cybertron and could only be buried in this foreign land.
Because they can't go back, none of the people standing here now can return to their hometown.
Rosa suddenly felt a pang of empathy; unable to go home, only able to drift aimlessly in another world. The only difference was that Rosa only had one machine...
But she also belongs to Cybertron to some extent, so perhaps this place could become her second home... I'm a Cybertronian too, in a way.
Dad... Mom...
Rosa suddenly felt like crying, and the cleaning solution welled up in her eyes.
"I think I should go back and protect humanity." After putting down the remains of the flying mountain, Arcee looked at the horn for a while before getting up to leave.
Rosa suddenly realized she looked like she was crying, and hurriedly wiped away the cleaning fluid that was about to spill from her eyes, watching Arcee transform into a motorcycle and drive away.
“Optimus Prime...helping humanity will only lead to more tragedies…” The ambulance stepped forward and stood beside Optimus Prime, watching Arcee gradually disappear into the distance.
“I understand what you mean.” Optimus Prime looked at the ambulance.
Rosa didn't pay attention to anything else after that; the cleaning work for the day was already done.
She went back to her room to rest and reflect on life. Perhaps she didn't agree with this world from the bottom of her heart. Everything she did was for profit. It was a question of whether she would starve to death living alone here. So they banded together for warmth, searched for energy bodies, and got paid according to the amount of work they did. Their daily goal was to survive and go home.
She never intended to fully integrate here; she has her own home, and this place is just a temporary haven.
But now, she needs to reassess whether she can gradually integrate into the environment emotionally. She still needs to consider the benefits, but she can relax a little and at least not let herself break down due to excessive pressure from not being able to relax.
Socializing and playing are ways to relieve stress, but unfortunately, she's not particularly familiar with the people she plays with, and she doesn't want to start conversations with them. So, let everything take its course.
At the very least, just surviving is enough.
Another thing is that I'm a total shut-in. I usually spend all my time playing games and anime. My social interactions are mostly online and offline video chats with friends, or discussing some amazing plays and my favorite couple.
LOL, there's no anime/manga fandom involved, we have absolutely nothing in common! Maybe I should just become a tech geek, find some tools and build some gadgets to pass the time. Tech geeks are still geeks, after all.
