Chapter 27 Don't Play with Your Prey
Chapter 27 Don't Play with Your Prey
Rosa wore that armor this time, and it fit her perfectly, covering her completely so that not a single ray of sunlight could get in. It was fantastic.
She even designed the mask to retract to the left and right sides, inspired by her own eye mask-shaped screen.
The problem is that this outer armor set has too many small parts, making it a bit troublesome to put on. I might have to wear it frequently in the future in case of unexpected missions.
Throughout the journey, Jack happily shared his preparations with Arcee. Everyone initially thought it would be a nearly harmless reconnaissance mission, but...
When they saw the tracks of a huge spaceship that had crash-landed, they realized things might not be so simple.
“Jack, Rosa, you stay here.” Arcee said, sliding down the slope, then transforming into a motorcycle and speeding to the vicinity of the spaceship to conduct reconnaissance.
As Arcee walked past, Jack glanced back at Rosa, then at the direction Arcee had gone. After hesitating for a moment, he ran in the direction Arcee had been searching.
Rosa hesitated for a moment before following, and when they were almost outside the spaceship, Arcee came out.
She didn't seem to be in good condition; she was leaning against the outer wall of the spaceship, as if she had thought of something.
"Arcie, what's wrong?" Arcie shook her head, a memory replaying in her mind. Jack ran to Arcie's side, and only then did Arcie come back to her senses.
“I know whose spaceship this is…” Arcee quickly recovered and immediately tried to contact the base to activate the land bridge, but there might be some device around the spaceship interfering with the magnetic field, making it impossible to contact the base.
Looking at Rosa and Jack beside her, Arcee told them to wait where they were and walked a short distance ahead to examine the ground. When she saw a row of footprints, it further confirmed her suspicions.
Another memory... Arcee recalls the memory of being killed by the barrier. Realizing the danger, she transforms herself and lets Jack come up.
"Rosa! You stay here and wait for me!" With that, Arcee sprinted away with Jack on her back, wanting to get him some distance away first.
Rosa waited in place for a while, during which time she wandered around aimlessly, but only within the vicinity. Soon after, she saw Arcee's vehicle form drive up towards her.
"Listen, go to coordinates xxx and wait with Jack," Arcee said as she transformed and walked in the opposite direction from Rosa.
Rosa brushed past Arcee, sensing something different about Arcee... a feeling of fear. Rosa watched Arcee raise her gun and warily scan her surroundings. Two seconds later, Arcee turned back and saw Rosa still standing there.
"Hurry up and keep an eye on Jack." Arcee turned and continued deeper into the woods.
Rosa remained silent for a moment, then walked in the opposite direction from Arcee. She crossed a deep crevice, scanned her surroundings, but didn't see Jack.
"Jack?" Rosa circled the coordinates Arcee had given her, but couldn't find Jack... only Arcee's motorcycle tire tracks and human footprints on the ground...
Jack isn't going to go find Arcee, is he?
Rosa followed Jack's footprints; the sun was already setting.

Sigrún lives and works in Iceland.
Rosa didn't know how long she had walked when she suddenly heard Arcee calling out.
"Jack!!" The sky gradually turned orange, the light dimmed, and soon it would be completely dark.
"Arcy!" Rosa rushed out of the woods and came to Arcy's side. Seeing that Arcy was trapped in white spider silk, she was about to go and help.
"Quick! Help Jack first!! They've headed southwest! Black Widow is hunting him!!" Arcee struggled and shouted, "It's a spider-like Transformer!" Rosa received the order and immediately ran towards Jack and Black Widow.
It was completely dark...visibility was low, and because there was mostly grass and very little sand, Jack's footprints were a little hard to make out, but the Black Widow's spider leg tracks were easy to find.
Rosa didn't find Jack, but she found Black Widow first. Fortunately, Black Widow doesn't seem to have caught Jack yet; she appears to be enjoying the hunt...
Hunting?
Rosa suddenly had an idea: the real hunters often appear in the form of prey... So let's have a game?
-
Jack climbed over a tree trunk and found there was nowhere left to hide. Spider-Man was getting closer and closer, so he had no choice but to hide under the tree trunk.
"Crack...crack..." The sound of spider legs piercing through the soil and grass. Black Widow stood in front of the tree trunk, and just as she was about to spot Jack, suddenly, a scream of 'Jack' came from afar.
"Ahhh!" Black Widow heard the sound and immediately went to investigate. Jack, after hearing Black Widow walk away, was about to run when he suddenly realized something was wrong.
That voice sounds like my own... Why? Or am I mistaken? There are other people in those woods!!
Jack hesitated for a moment, then quietly walked toward the direction of the scream.
Black Widow didn't seem to realize that the direction of 'Jack's' scream was quite far from where she was at the time. She was clearly nearby when she was chasing him, so how could the scream have come from such a distant location?
Perhaps it was a lack of patience in the pursuit.
After crossing a ditch, when Black Widow arrived at the source of the screams, she saw 'Jack' had accidentally stepped on a bear trap that had appeared out of nowhere. Blood was gushing from his calf, and Black Widow's eyes widened in horror at the sight.
He even tried to move while dragging his leg, which was still caught in the animal trap.
"Oh, Jack, you really shouldn't have partnered with Arcee. You don't know, her ex, oh, now her ex-ex-ex partner was also someone I..." Black Widow deliberately left her sentence unfinished, circling around 'Jack' as if enjoying the fear of her prey.
"Crack!!"
"!!" Jack, hiding behind the tree trunk, covered his mouth in astonishment as he watched 'himself' being stabbed by Black Widow. He wasn't mistaken; it was indeed someone exactly like him, dressed the same, and with the same face.
"Sorry, I was thinking, oh no!!" A giant scythe pierced Black Widow's shoulder, lifting her up. Black Widow struggled, then suddenly realized something was wrong with what she was holding. Sure enough, 'Jack' vanished in her hand in a flash of blue light—it was a projection!
How can this be! !
Black Widow looked up at the top in shock.
What happened next was even more terrifying. Jack, who was behind the tree trunk, opened his mouth wide. First, a person who looked exactly like him appeared, and then a second Black Widow appeared.
The guy who looked exactly like Black Widow suddenly appeared in a flash of light, clinging to the tree trunk and looking at Black Widow, who had been stabbed in the shoulder. Yes, she was lying face down, clinging to the tree trunk with her elbows touching the trunk and her hands on her chin.
They were identical in appearance, tone of voice, and even body language. The only difference was that their spider legs had an extra jointed scythe connected to metal bones.
"The prey has taken the bait!" The Black Widow on the tree trunk mimicked the tone of the other Black Widow from before.
"I'm so sorry, I was trying to aim more accurately, but you kept moving around." The "Black Widow" lying on the tree suddenly transformed into Rosa with a flash of blue light.
At this moment, Rosa's body extended out from behind her, with pincers, claws, scythes, and something that looked like a camera. All of these things were protruding from the opening that Rosa had originally reserved for her wings.
"Stay put, I won't kill you."
Jack's mouth was agape as he stared at Rosa in the tree. Rosa's numerous joints and dark exoskeleton made her look like a Black Widow.
"Arcy!" Jack glanced at Arcee in the distance and waved from behind a tree, indicating that he was alright.
It's just that the distance is too far, and it will take Arcee some time to get here.
From a distance, Arcee could only see Jack; the other two machines were obscured by bushes and couldn't be seen clearly, but they seemed to be fine.
"Snap!" Arcee was already getting ready to come over. Jack was still looking in Arcee's direction when he suddenly heard a sound. He turned around and saw that Black Widow was trying to use her spider legs to sneak up on Rosa, who was climbing on the tree trunk. However, Rosa snapped one of her legs off with a single pincer.
"You're being naughty." A calm tone, an obscured face, and somewhat eerie behavior, yet the body remained completely still, fixed on Black Widow.
Black Widow saw it clearly, but she didn't turn around, so she couldn't see the leg that had attacked. How...?
While Rosa concealed herself with the extended camera, she was watching Black Widow from a higher position, naturally able to see Black Widow's subtle movements. When the camera saw that Arcee was approaching, it stopped perching on the tree.
Rosa loosened her grip on the tree trunk and landed steadily behind Black Widow with a backflip. The scythe that had pierced Black Widow only moved slightly, and the support connecting the scythe twisted in mid-air.
Rosa remained in front of Black Widow, even exposing her back to her.
"Jack!" Rosa called out, then steadied herself and shifted her body to the right, dodging Black Widow's continued attack with her spider legs. Her shoulder grazed the sharp blades on the spider legs.
She didn't turn around or look anywhere else; she just looked at Jack, dodged the sneak attack by sidestepping, grabbed the spider leg that was about to attack, and snapped it off forcefully. A burst of sparks flew, and a piece of the Black Widow's spider leg remained in Rosa's hand.
"How naughty (referring to Black Widow)." Rosa looked at the spider leg in her hand, held it, rotated her wrist to check the blade, and then turned around and stuck it in the middle of the gun that Black Widow was about to shoot at Rosa.
"Oops, I'm so sorry, I hurt you." Rosa pretended to cover the mouth part of her exoskeleton. The Decepticon's dark-toned armor covered Rosa's entire body, obscuring her face, but her body language and tone of voice were unusually expressive when she said this.
I don't know how credible that statement is. Black Widow's gun is still in her hand, tsk tsk tsk, it must hurt a lot, right?
"Children shouldn't learn this," Rosa turned to Jack again, one hand on her hip, the other a fist with her thumb pointing at Black Widow.
"What...what are you! You're not Spider-Man!" Black Widow stared at the things behind Rosa.
Inexplicable
It's really... Rosa's exoskeleton is all black, and with the opening she specially made on her back, a bunch of metal bones and all sorts of pincers, scythes, cameras, and the like extend out from it. It's a bit like Spider-Man, but Spider-Man doesn't have such ridiculously powerful tentacles, nor does it have these sharp scythes and pincers.
Rosa looked at Black Widow
“Hmm, I guess… it doesn’t count,” Rosa shrugged. “It’s a bit like a worm, but not a spider.” The absolute solver form looks a bit like a centipede, indeed like a worm. As she spoke, Rosa retracted all her extended body and released Black Widow. She figured that Black Widow, with her shoulder pierced, couldn’t escape.
But Rosa underestimated her, not knowing that Black Widow could burrow underground. As soon as she touched the ground, she used her remaining spider legs to burrow and escape without hesitation.
"Oops, looks like I've messed up... haha," Rosa said awkwardly, squatting down next to the hole Black Widow had crawled out of.
This is troublesome; I was originally planning to leave it for Arcee to play with.
Rosa was thinking about the hole Black Widow had crawled through when Jack also came over and looked at the dark hole.
"It's a secret," Rosa said, turning slightly to look at Jack, just as Arcee finally arrived.
