Chapter 242 The only chance

Chapter 242 The only chance

The factory corridor was dark and narrow, and the silence was suffocating. Su Ming could feel his own heartbeat intertwined with A Ling's breathing, creating a tense atmosphere.

"We need to hurry." Ah Ling's voice came softly, revealing a hint of nervousness. Her hands unconsciously clenched, as if she was suppressing her inner anxiety.

"If we can get that information, perhaps we can find a way out," Su Ming consoled him, silently cherishing hope. He knew that the tacit understanding and trust between the two of them was the driving force behind their continued struggle.

After walking down a long corridor, they finally arrived at the door of the data room. The door was half-open. Su Ming took a deep breath and pushed it open. A musty smell immediately hit him.

"It's here." A Ling said anxiously, quickly walking towards the folder on the table, flipping through it quickly with her fingers.

Su Ming was alert, noticing the movement outside the window. A sense of unease welled up in his heart, and he felt that the atmosphere outside seemed to have become unusually tense.

"Hurry, have you found it?" he asked in a low voice, and his mind involuntarily began to count down.

"One more thing..." Ah Ling's voice was a little hurried, her fingers sliding across the paper, her forehead slightly wrinkled. At this moment, footsteps suddenly sounded outside the door, and Su Ming's heart suddenly tightened.

"A Ling, hurry!" he shouted hurriedly, his heart secretly tightening.

"Found it!" A Ling excitedly held up the folder, a hint of joy on her face. But then she realized the urgency of the situation, quickly stuffed the folder into her backpack, and prepared to leave.

The two of them quickly ran towards the back door. Su Ming held A Ling's hand tightly, his heart filled with anxiety and guilt. "I should have been faster and protected you."

"Don't overthink it, we'll be fine," Ah Ling said encouragingly, her eyes firm, as if conveying strength. Her courage comforted Su Ming, but he still felt uneasy about the impending danger.

Just as they were about to reach the back door, the sounds outside grew clearer. Several enemies were approaching them. Su Ming's heartbeat quickened, and he felt his blood boiling. They had no way to retreat; they had to find a way to deal with it calmly.

"We must separate," he said suddenly, making up his mind.

"What?" A Ling looked at him in surprise, as if she couldn't believe it.

"I will lead them away, and you escape through the back door." Su Ming's voice was firm, and his eyes showed determination.

"I can't leave you!" A Ling retorted anxiously, with anxiety flashing in her eyes.

"This is the only way, Aling." Su Ming gritted his teeth, determined. "I will find a way to find you and ensure your safety."

"You..." A Ling's voice trembled, tears welling up in her eyes. "I don't want to lose you."

"You won't lose me. I will come back." Su Ming held her shoulders, his eyes full of determination. He knew that the choice at this moment would change everything.

"Okay." A Ling finally nodded, feeling helplessness and despair in her heart, but she understood that she had to trust Su Ming.

"Let's go!" Su Ming said, turning and running towards the front door. He took a deep breath, ready to face the incoming enemy. He silently said to himself, "I must survive. I must not let her down."

Ah Ling cautiously slipped toward the back door, while Su Ming feigned composure, pushing open the front door and heading out. The enemy's voices echoed like thunder in his ears, his heartbeat accelerating. He had to remain calm.

"Who are you looking for?" he asked innocently, trying to hide his inner nervousness.

"Catch him!" an enemy suddenly shouted at him, and instantly everyone's attention was focused on him. Su Ming's heart tightened, realizing that he had been exposed.

He quickly turned and fled to the other side of the street, his enemies following closely behind him. The sound of footsteps echoed in his ears, and Su Ming ran desperately, with only one thought in his mind: Don't get caught.

At this moment, he caught a glimpse of an alley ahead and quickly turned and dived into it, trying to use the environment to avoid pursuit. The alley was narrow and dark, and the walls around it seemed to be closing in, making him feel suffocated.

"Hurry, hurry!" He muttered to himself, trying to calm himself down and look for a chance to escape.

The footsteps behind him were still pressing, and he knew he couldn't stop. Suddenly, Su Ming saw an abandoned warehouse, and with a sudden thought, he decided to take the risk and go in.

"Hopefully I can find some cover," he thought to himself, pushing open the door of the warehouse and quickly ducking in. In the dim light, he tried to adapt himself and listened carefully to the sounds outside.

A few seconds later, the footsteps outside finally stopped. Su Ming held his breath and tried to calm himself down. He was filled with uneasiness, but at the same time, he secretly hoped that A Ling could escape safely.

"A Ling, arrive safely soon." He prayed silently, his concern for her growing stronger. No matter how difficult it was, he would find her and ensure her safety.

Su Ming lay in a dark corner of the warehouse, holding his breath nervously, the faint sound of wind and occasional noises filling his ears. He kept thinking of Ah Ling, longing for her safe escape, yet also worried about her being in danger.

"I must find her," he vowed to himself, her warm smile echoing in his mind. At that moment, a rustling sound came from outside the warehouse door. Su Ming was instantly alert, his heartbeat accelerating.

"We can't let him escape." The voice outside was deep and angry, as if the enemy had not given up on hunting him. Su Ming's heart tightened, realizing that time was running out.

He poked his head out and saw several enemies searching near the warehouse. Su Ming gritted his teeth and decided to take action. He knew he had to find a way out as soon as possible, otherwise he would be surrounded.

"They'll find this place," he muttered to himself, quickly analyzing the situation and considering the possibility of escape. A bold idea flashed through his mind: he decided to exploit the enemy's blind spot.

"If I escape through the back door, maybe I can find Ah Ling." He secretly made up his mind, his heart filled with determination. So, Su Ming quietly approached the other door of the warehouse, trying to find an opportunity.

"Listen, if we can stop him here..." One of the enemies' voices suddenly became excited, and Su Ming's heart trembled. He knew he had to hurry.

He gently opened the back door, letting in a faint light, and mustered up the courage to walk out. The air outside was fresh and moist, but he had no time to enjoy it. All he could think about was how to find Ah Ling and how to escape the pursuit.

"A Ling, where are you?" He called out softly, hoping for a response. But all he could hear was the sound of the wind and his own rapidly accelerating heartbeat.

Suddenly, he heard a low cry from a distance, a voice that sounded like Ah Ling's. Su Ming's heart tightened, and he quickly ran towards the sound. Although he was filled with anxiety, he knew this might be his only chance.
