Chapter 502 Complete outbreak
Chapter 502 Complete outbreak
"But I have no choice." Su Ming smiled coldly, and suddenly felt that he, like his former comrades, had already been pushed into an uncontrollable abyss.
He did not look back, but walked forward firmly, heading towards the abandoned factory in the suburbs.
Finally, after a long journey, Su Ming stood on the desolate land. There was no life here, surrounded by abandoned factories and dilapidated walls. Even the air was filled with the smell of decay. The ground was overgrown with weeds, and the former production equipment had long since rusted. It was like a place that had been silent for a long time, quietly awaiting its fate.
Su Ming paused, the silence around him making him tense. Zheng Yaoxian's breathing had begun to weaken, and Su Ming knew he had to quickly find some effective medication or other treatment that could stabilize Zheng Yaoxian. Otherwise, any hesitation could lead to their failure.
He took a deep breath and looked back at the still unconscious Zheng Yaoxian. An involuntary sense of guilt rose in his heart. He had clearly promised to protect Zheng Yaoxian forever, but at this moment, that promise became even more heavy.
"I can't let you die." Su Ming said in a low voice, his eyes as firm as iron.
He adjusted Zheng Yaoxian in his arms and decided to explore the factory grounds first. Upon entering, he saw nothing but ruins and rubble, and every brick and stone on the ground reeked of decay. It seemed abandoned long ago, untouched. However, Su Ming knew that such places were the perfect place to hide secrets.
He gently set Zheng Yaoxian down, opened a shabby iron door, and cautiously walked in. It was dark and damp inside, the air thick with the smell of mold, and every step he took made a creaking sound under his feet. The entire factory was eerie and gloomy, and a dead silence reigned. Su Ming instinctively felt a chill run down his spine, and his heartbeat began to accelerate.
He took each step cautiously. Just then, a slight noise reached his ears, as if something were moving in the darkness. Su Ming's heart suddenly tightened. He quickly fumbled for his weapon and slowly turned around.
"Who is it?" His voice was low and nervous, and he looked around vigilantly.
no respond.
Su Ming's eyes scanned the dimly lit factory, his entire attention focused on that faint sound. His ears were exceptionally sharp in the silence, perceiving every movement of the air. His heartbeat quickened, and the sweat on his palms gradually seeped through the fabric of his gloves. The feeling of unease grew stronger, as if some unknown presence was quietly approaching.
"Someone..." he whispered to himself, his eyes sharp as knives, scanning the dark corners around him. The air seemed to freeze, and even his breathing became heavy. The "creak" sound almost exploded in the silence, like a thorn, piercing the deepest part of his nerves.
He turned abruptly, his gaze fixed warily on a corner of the factory. It was hidden and dark, and nothing could be seen clearly. Though he forced himself to remain calm, the uneasiness and tension deep within him washed over him like a tide. With every deep breath, he couldn't help but think of Zheng Yaoxian's frail figure and the unsolved mysteries.
"I don't believe it." He cursed softly and approached the darkness. Despite knowing the danger, Su Ming still decided to explore deeper. He had no time to delay, and there was no way he could get trapped here. Zheng Yaoxian's injuries could not be cured. If he delayed any further...
"You don't have a choice, Ming." He walked, silently reminding himself, "You promised him that no matter what happened, you couldn't let him die."
However, the moment he took a step forward, a feeling of unease suddenly intensified. Out of the corner of his eye, he caught a glimpse of a dark shadow silently gliding across the other side. Su Ming subconsciously paused, turning his head to stare at the shadow. His hands had already quietly gripped the handle of his gun, and he leaned forward slightly, ready to respond to any possible attack.
"Who is it?" His voice was low and calm, almost devoid of emotion, as if he were facing a completely unrelated enemy. But his heartbeat was already accelerating, and beads of sweat were faintly oozing from his forehead. He knew he had to remain absolutely calm, otherwise any negligence could lead to irreversible consequences.
silence.
"How long have you been following me?" Su Ming repeated, his voice even colder. Every step he took was extremely cautious, as he approached the dark corner silently, practically fighting against the air.
Still no one responded. The air felt like steam that had been suppressed for a long time, thick and suffocating. Su Ming's heart grew increasingly uneasy. He could almost clearly feel the presence of the shadow, as if a pair of invisible eyes were staring at him. His steps became lighter, his body more agile, and he instantly entered a state of alert, with almost no unnecessary movement.
"If you don't show up, I won't be polite." Su Ming's tone became colder, but his eyes became more fierce, as if a beast was about to pounce on its prey.
Suddenly, the shadow seemed to stir, its slight movement shattering the surrounding silence. Su Ming turned sharply, quickly reversing direction, and lunged straight at the shadow. Just then, a deep laugh finally echoed from the darkness ahead.
"Haha, what a cautious person."
Su Ming's body stiffened, almost instantly alerted to something amiss. He paused, his gaze fixed on the shadow in front of him. Though the voice was soft, it carried a chilling coldness, as if it could plunge someone into death at any moment.
"Who are you?" Su Ming's voice was almost squeezed out from between his teeth, with a hint of suppressed anger. "Why are you following me?"
The shadowy figure finally emerged, slowly stepping out of the shadows. It was a tall man, wearing a tattered black coat. His features were hidden beneath the brim of his heavy hat, only the faintest light illuminating a portion of his features. At that moment, his eyes gleamed with an indescribable coldness and mockery.
"I was merely sent to see if you've lost your mind," the man said casually, a hint of disdain in his tone. "But you seem quite patient."
"Who are you?" Su Ming could no longer endure it, and his inner rage erupted completely at this moment. He suddenly pounced on the man, as fast as lightning, closing the distance between them in an instant.
However, the man smiled softly and stepped back slightly, accurately avoiding Su Ming's attack. His movements were graceful and calm, as if he didn't take Su Ming's attack seriously at all.
