Chapter 33 The Appearance of Tang Zhou
Chapter 33 The Appearance of Tang Zhou
"Are you all useless? Look at what you've drawn!" In the conference room, Xie Lianzhou stood in the middle of the room and slammed the manuscript in his hand onto the table with a crisp sound. His eyes were filled with disappointment and anger as he stared straight at the person sitting at the conference table, his tone filled with undisguised rage.
He braced his hands on the table, leaning slightly forward, his sharp gaze sweeping across everyone's faces. Those seated below kept their heads down, avoiding his eye contact, silent like children who had done something wrong. A tense, oppressive atmosphere filled the conference room.
Xie Zhiyi passed by the meeting room and saw everything that was happening inside.
"Alright, that's all for today's meeting. Go back and revise your drafts carefully."
Afterwards, the employees left the meeting room together.
She walked over to her brother, gently patted his shoulder, and said in a soft voice, "Brother, don't be too nervous, relax. Take it slow. These employees are all new hires, so we can't push them too hard."
Xie Lianzhou had been busy with the company's design work lately, so busy that he was dizzy. Perhaps due to excessive work pressure, he felt irritable and restless, which made him very bad-tempered, and he was always impatient to get things done. He rubbed his temples, trying to relieve the pain and discomfort in his head.
"Zhiyi, I'm fine, don't worry. There's a batch of new employees being interviewed later, could you go and check on them for me? I have an appointment to discuss something later, so I don't have time to keep an eye on things."
"Okay, I know."
Xie Zhiyi arrived at the interview location and looked at the people coming for their interviews. She couldn't help but sigh at these people who were just starting out in society. Perhaps they came with dreams and passions, or perhaps they were just looking for a job to make a living...
At this moment, a boy caught her attention.
He was very handsome and had an outstanding presence, making him stand out in a crowd. She thought to herself: If he could join the company, he would definitely be a highlight.
He wore a sharp black suit, his white shirt buttoned up to the top, his hair neatly groomed and handsome. His dark, inky eyes were so emotionless they were almost unbearable to look directly at. Xie Zhiyi couldn't help but glance at him a few more times, and the man noticed her gaze, looking up to meet her eyes.
The man seemed quite surprised the moment he saw the woman.
Tang Zhou recognized the woman before him all too well; it was Xie Shiyun...
He could never forget that face...
Judging from his gaze, the two seemed to know each other, but Xie Zhiyi had no recollection of him; he was just one of many interviewees.
However, when she saw the boy's resume, she found that he did not have any relevant work experience.
She hesitated for a moment, but ultimately decided to give the boy a chance and said, "Your name is Tang Zhou."
Xie Zhiyi looked quietly at the man named Tang Zhou in front of her. Her eyes were calm and deep, as if they could see through everything. Then she continued, "You have no relevant experience in this field. You've joined the design department, which means you're a complete novice. Do you think you can handle this position? Please give me a good reason."
Hearing Xie Zhiyi's question, Tang Zhou wasn't intimidated. On the contrary, he remained remarkably calm, as if he had anticipated such a question. He took a deep breath and answered firmly, "Esteemed interviewers, I admit I lack relevant design experience, but I have a strong interest and passion for design. I believe that with enough passion and effort, anyone can become an excellent designer. Moreover, I have already taught myself some design knowledge and accumulated some experience through practice. Although this is far from enough, I believe that once I join the company, I will have more learning opportunities and continuously improve my abilities. Furthermore, I have a strong learning ability, and I am confident that I can quickly adapt to a new environment and master the necessary skills."
His gaze was fixed firmly on Xie Zhiyi, as if he wanted her to feel the determination and courage deep within his heart. He knew that this interview might be a pivotal moment that would change his destiny, so he had to give it his all.
That's one reason, but there's another important factor. The woman standing before him, although she looked exactly like Xie Shiyun, he could clearly sense the differences between them.
This woman exuded a unique aura that made her seem unfamiliar to him. Although she possessed Xie Shiyun's face, her mannerisms and personality were completely different from his. Xie Shiyun always spoke with a gentle and composed tone, never with such coldness.
Moreover, she sometimes displayed timidity and fear, lacking confidence; yet, the woman before him was so confident, as if everything was under her control. This stark contrast aroused his suspicion.
The interviewers exchanged glances, while Xie Zhiyi had already made up her mind.
"That concludes today's interview. As for you, go back and wait for our response. We need to discuss this further. Designers are the core of the company, and we need to carefully consider our selection."
"OK, thanks,"
After they left, the secretary next to him tentatively asked, "Mr. Xie, what did you think of the interviewees today?"
While organizing the documents, Xie Zhiyi replied, "The quality is terrible! I'm very curious about how the company's HR department selects resumes. That guy named Tang Zhou has absolutely no design experience; he's a complete novice. He has a lot of passion, but it's useless! Let's get rid of him sometime."
"Okay, got it."
She was very dissatisfied with the results of the interview. She felt that the candidates' abilities and experience did not meet the company's requirements. As a professional design company, she hoped to recruit truly capable and talented designers, not those who only talked about ideals. She sighed and continued, "What we need are talents who can start working immediately, not novices who still need training. If this continues, our project progress will be affected."
The secretary nodded in understanding.
He knew that Mr. Xie was a very meticulous and serious person who had high expectations for the quality and ability of his employees. However, he also reminded him, "But sometimes we can't just look at the surface. Perhaps some people don't have relevant experience, but they may have potential talent and creativity. We can give them some opportunities to prove their value."
Xie Zhiyi frowned upon hearing this, and after a moment's thought, said, "Well, what you said makes sense, but I still prefer to hire people who already have a certain foundation and experience. After all, we need to ensure the quality and efficiency of the project. However, for those newcomers who do have potential, we can also consider giving them some internship or probationary period opportunities to see if they are really suitable for this industry."
The secretary agreed and offered some suggestions: "We can have the HR department re-screen the resumes to find candidates with relevant backgrounds or experience. Meanwhile, for the selected new hires, we can arrange dedicated mentors to guide them and help them adapt to the work environment as quickly as possible. This will ensure the smooth progress of the project while also cultivating a new group of talents."
She then nodded, agreeing with her secretary's suggestion. She decided to communicate with the human resources department to adjust the recruitment strategy to ensure that she could recruit excellent designers who met the company's requirements.
Meanwhile, on the other side, Gu Jiayue asked Tang Zhou with surprise, "You said you saw Shi Yun? Is that... true?" "The Fu family already announced her death three years ago. Wasn't she already..."
Tang Zhou stood by the window of the building, his back to her, gazing intently at the bustling city outside, his heart already filled with a complex mix of emotions.
After a moment of silence, he slowly said, "I'm not sure if it was her, but there was indeed a woman who looked exactly like her in front of me."
"They look exactly alike?" Gu Jiayue frowned. "Could it just be a coincidence? After all, the world is so big, there must be people who look alike."
Tang Zhou sighed softly, turned around, and looked at Gu Jiayue with a firm gaze: "But that feeling is also very unfamiliar, it feels like you've become a different person." His voice carried a hint of helplessness and bitterness.
Gu Jiayue looked at Tang Zhou and sensed the deep pain in his heart. She knew that Tang Zhou had been using Shi Yun to deal with Fu Shiyue all along. Although her departure had indeed dealt a blow to Fu Shiyue, he had never intended for her to die...
"If it really is her, then why didn't she come looking for us?" Gu Jiayue couldn't help but ask.
Tang Zhou shook his head, a hint of confusion flashing in his eyes: "I don't know, maybe she has her own reasons, but in any case, I have to find her and find out what exactly happened back then."
She suddenly spoke up: "You...don't want revenge anymore?"
Upon hearing her words, Tang Zhou's eyes suddenly turned fierce as he looked at her: "I will not give up on this matter. No matter what, I will never forget the harm that Fu Shiyue caused!"
Tang Zhou glanced at Gu Jiayue and said, "You go out first. I need to be alone for a while. I need to think about the later plans. Of course... I won't give up Xie Shiyun as a pawn."
After Gu Jiayue left, Tang Zhou was left alone in the office. He stood up and silently looked at the scenery outside the building, muttering to himself, "If those things hadn't happened back then, Shi Yun, I think we would have been friends forever, and I wouldn't be on your side. It's all fate..."
Even if they could go back to the past, hatred would separate them; they couldn't be friends for life. To him, she was merely a tool to deal with Fu Shiyue, because she was his weakness.
Fate really knows how to play tricks on people...
