Chapter 47 Coincidence
Chapter 47 Coincidence
She had a very, very long dream...
In her dream, she saw herself wearing a flawless white dress, as pure and innocent as a snowflake, standing there lightly.
In her dream, she saw another woman who looked remarkably like herself, but their personalities were completely different. That woman exuded a mysterious and captivating aura; her eyes were deep and insightful, as if she could see through everything. In contrast, she appeared innocent and naive, her eyes filled with curiosity and a desire to explore the world.
Those unfamiliar footsteps sometimes move forward steadily, and sometimes they rush about.
But for some reason, it seemed to her as if she were heading towards another world.
Or rather, they are heading towards another world.
This dream left her bewildered, because she had never imagined that she would have this side to herself.
.....
"Fu Shiyue, was I really annoying before?" Xie Shiyun suddenly asked.
She broke free from his embrace and turned to look at him.
Fu Shiyue replied earnestly, "No, you can always be yourself and don't need to care about anyone's opinion. I won't force you to change anything, as long as you're happy." He looked at her tenderly, his eyes filled with love and care.
"When you're discharged from the hospital, shall we go home together?" Fu Shiyue asked pleadingly, hoping to start over with her and return to the home that belonged only to the two of them.
Xie Shiyun was silent for a moment, tears welling up in her eyes, and choked out, "That's your home... not mine."
Her voice trembled, revealing her inner pain and helplessness. "My family fell apart long ago, and you were partly responsible for all this tragedy..." Her eyes were filled with sorrow and despair.
Xie Shiyun can accept any kind of misery because she has already experienced too much suffering and setbacks. So, if something similar happens again, it is just an unavoidable accident for her.
Her heart was already riddled with wounds and could no longer bear any more pain.
Fu Shiyue frowned and tenderly patted her head: "Don't overthink things, okay?"
Xie Shiyun shook his head, a hint of pain flashing in his eyes, as if he had been stung by something, but he quickly regained his composure, though his face still showed an undisguised weariness and helplessness.
“I remembered our past…” she sighed softly, “and that woman who looked exactly like me, she once possessed my body and made me lose myself… During that time, I was in so much pain in another place…”
She slowly closed her eyes, seemingly unwilling to recall those painful experiences.
After a moment of silence, she opened her eyes again, looking at the other person with a firm gaze, her tone calm but with a hint of determination.
"I'm so tired, and I don't want to keep going like this. Can you let me go?" Her voice revealed deep weariness and helplessness, which evoked pity in the listener.
However, she was very determined and resolute, as if she had prepared for the worst.
“Ah Yun…” he murmured to himself, as if trying to etch the name into the depths of his heart. “You’re just too tired. You need to rest. Once you’ve recovered, you won’t be like this anymore.” His voice was low and hoarse, each word filled with deep affection and concern.
He raised his hand, trying to touch her face, but hesitated just before he could, and finally slowly lowered it. His eyes were filled with pain and helplessness, as if he were going through a fierce internal struggle.
"Please don't leave me..." he whispered, his voice filled with endless sorrow and despair. "I can give up everything, I can stop pursuing anything, but the one thing I can't lose is you. As long as you're by my side, nothing else matters."
After he finished speaking, a bitter smile appeared on his lips, a smile that contained so much emotion that it broke one's heart.
Fu Shiyue had long been accustomed to her presence in his life. Every little detail of the past seven years was etched in his mind. Perhaps it was because of that night that he brought her home, and from then on their fates became intertwined.
The business world is like a battlefield, and Fu Shiyue has witnessed too many conspiracies and schemes, experiences that have made him cold and composed. However, it is precisely such a strong man who is moved by a seemingly weak woman.
Xie Shiyue isn't outgoing, but her heart is full of kindness and gentleness. When Fu Shiyue needed companionship the most, she silently protected him, giving him warmth and strength. This quiet support and care brought Fu Shiyue endless happiness.
Fu Shiyue realized that he had fallen completely in love with this woman, and this feeling had taken deep root in his heart. No matter what happened, he would steadfastly protect her and never leave her.
And she will never leave him.
I thought things could continue like this forever, but an accident still happened...
Fu Shiyue looked at Xie Shiyun, his heart filled with conflict and pain. He knew that her inner wounds had not yet healed and that she needed time and space to recover.
"You should rest here first. I've arranged for people to come and take care of you, and there are also people watching outside. Don't be afraid. I'll come and pick you up to take you home later," Fu Shiyue said with difficulty.
"Shall we start over?" His eyes reddened as he pulled her closer, wrapping his arms around her waist and burying his head in the crook of her neck.
Clinging tightly to each other, they could hear each other's rapid, urgent heartbeats, thump-thump...
His breath brushed gently against my ear.
Xie Shiyun's whole body was burning hot, and even her breathing became disordered.
However, she did not respond to his words, broke free, and silently walked to the bedside, slowly sat down, and then quietly lay back down on the bed, as if she had experienced this situation countless times and was already used to it.
"I'm tired and need to rest. Please leave." Her voice was soft, but carried an undeniable resolve. After saying this, she closed her eyes, refusing to look at him again. He stood there, silently watching her, a flicker of pain and helplessness in his eyes. Finally, he sighed softly, turned, and left the ward.
As the door closed gently, she was left alone in the ward once again.
She curled up tightly, wrapping herself in the blanket, as if that would bring her some warmth and security. Her hair was scattered messily on the pillow, obscuring her face and making it impossible to see her expression. Only the tears that kept sliding down her cheeks revealed the deep pain and helplessness in her heart.
Late at night, inside the bar
He sat alone in a corner of the bar, the whiskey in his glass gleaming in the dim light.
He picked up his glass, downed it in one gulp, and felt the burning sting of the strong liquor in his throat. The alcohol brought no comfort; instead, it made his mood even heavier.
Trying to numb oneself with alcohol only makes the inner pain more clearly surfaced.
"Fu Shiling, what's the plan?" Even in the dim light, his gloomy face was still visible, every contour line seemingly gentle yet concealing a sharp chill.
"The goods he brought back from Australia contained inferior markings for producing jewelry. Although they look normal on the outside, they are very likely to be dangerous after prolonged use. They buy them at low prices, and then sell them at high prices after the products are launched. In this way, consumers will definitely prefer Wan Shen's products." Xiao Yun frowned, a look of worry on his face, and said slowly.
He shook his head slightly, seemingly feeling helpless and disappointed by this behavior. Then, he continued, "Your half-brother really will stop at nothing to achieve his goals, tsk tsk tsk..." His tone carried a hint of sigh and regret.
Xiao Yun was well aware of the problems with this batch of goods; if unsuspecting consumers purchased and used them, it could have serious consequences. Yet, the other party, in pursuit of maximum profit, was resorting to such unfair means to compete for market share. This filled Xiao Yun with anger and resentment, and also made him worried about the unhealthy practices within the industry.
“Keep an eye on him. This time, I’ll make sure he can’t survive in this industry anymore. He messed with my people, he’s asking for death!” the man said through gritted teeth, his eyes filled with anger and determination.
After saying that, he picked up the wine glass in front of him, tilted his head back, and drank it all in one gulp. The wine slid down his throat, bringing a burning sensation, but he didn't seem to care. He just frowned and continued to ponder.
Then, behind him, a tall, cold-faced man nodded slightly, indicating that he understood.
Then he turned and left, disappearing into the darkness.
The man was left sitting there alone, contemplating his next move.
Finally, the phone rang, breaking the silence. Fu Shiyue glanced at the screen, a cold smile playing on his lips.
He pressed the answer button and listened to the message coming from the other end of the line. After a moment, he hung up and stood up.
"Very well, get ready to make your move," he said softly, his tone filled with boundless killing intent.
This operation will inflict heavy losses on the other side.
Sometimes, she rarely talks about love, or even avoids it altogether.
Because I once lost the love of both parents, it seems like love is very far away from me.
Until she met Fu Shiyue...
The elusive nature of love
From his perspective
Where is love hidden?
Fu Shiyue thought, love is hidden in her sparkling eyes; all the liveliness and silence are hidden in her watery eyes, as if her eyes can speak.
Sometimes sad, sometimes happy
Her love was like a dreamlike yet sincere firework blooming in her otherwise calm life; the residual heat of that spark was enough to warm her once cold face.
It seems so unreal.
But it also feels like it really happened.
The aftereffects are really strong...
