The Tycoon's Gutsy Wife

Chapter 25: He Pleaded

Chapter 25: He Pleaded

"Well, maybe you should have just said it in front of my face that day instead of talking behind my back," she countered. "And now, your son is going to face the consequences of your actions." She stared down at Timothy who shivered with fear.

"What nonsense are you spouting? You’re such a shameless woman! You left your husband and started going out with another man. And you’re here trying to justify your actions?" Mrs. Sterling yelled.

"And because of your mistake, Timothy provoked Ian into hitting him. I think it’s concluded now. Timothy has to apologize to Ian for provoking him and calling his mother such a word in the first place," the principal said.

The Sterling’s couple obviously weren’t happy with the outcome of the situation.

Adeline thought that Darien’s presence at the party would spike some rumors, especially after getting shot there, but she didn’t think that rumors of her having an affair with another man would be one of them.

She glanced at Theodore who didn’t make eye contact with her.

Obviously, not many people knew about Theodore’s infidelity, and now, all focus was on Adeline for simply accompanying Darien to the patio as per her grandfather’s request.

"Timothy must apologize to Ian," the principal repeated.

"That won’t be happening," Mr. Sterling replied. "Timothy didn’t say anything wrong at all. He said what was right. His mother is a whore who should be treated as one."

Adeline grinned, her lips stretching to her cheeks.

"I believe that your company is starting to face some scandals lately, isn’t that right, Mr. Sterling?" Theodore suddenly interrupted.

The other man’s face instantly turned pale at the mention of his business.

"It turned out you were in cohorts with the Solvaena company and now, they’re starting to drag you down to the pits of hell where they’re going to. That’s why you came to Hazel’s birthday party to gain some connections. But instead of doing your networking, you chose to do something else?" He questioned. "And now, you’re accusing my wife of being a whore?"

Mr. Sterling gulped down his saliva hard.

Compared to the Westwood family and the Donovan family, the Sterling family was simply ants that they could crush under their feet.

They’d gone to both companies to ask for partnerships but were always getting rejected.

It may seem petty but this was finally their moment to have both of them apologize.

"If a single scandal comes out about your company, no matter how small it may be, I hope you do realize that you might lose your company forever," Theodore reminded while the man’s lips thinned as she scowled at Theodore.

He just had to use his predicament to his advantage.

With his teeth gnashing together, he took Timothy off his lap and pushed him towards Ian.

"Apologize." One word and the little boy shivered in fear.

Mrs. Sterling pinched her husband, trying to understand why he folded so quickly but the man ignored her.

"I’m sorry for calling you a whore, Mrs. Westwood," Timothy replied with tears streaming down his face.

Adeline couldn’t bring herself to be furious at the boy. It was his parents who weren’t careful with the words they used around him at the end of the day.

She smiled at him, cupped his cheeks, and wiped his tears off.

"It’s alright, Timothy. Just promise me that you’ll be a good boy from now on. And don’t pick on Ian alright?" She asked and he nodded vehemently, his hands clenching on his uniform so hard.

She couldn’t help but pity the boy. She reached into her purse and brought out a chocolate bar she carried along with her.

"Here, take this," she handed it over to him. He took it from her hands while she ruffled his hair playfully.

She faced the Sterling couple who were obviously not happy with her interaction with their son.

"I hope this is the last time something like this will happen," she said. She turned to Theodore. "Let’s go."

Together, they left the principal’s office and headed towards the car.

"I’ll be taking him home," she said as she opened her car door for Ian and helped him inside. "You can go back to work now." Then she closed the door. But when she was about to open the driver’s seat and intended to get in, Theodore pulled her arm.

"You see what your interaction with Darien is causing for our son?" Theodore questioned, a grin on his face. Adeline frowned deeply at him. "If you continue to mingle with a man such as Darien, it will only bring trouble to our family."

"Family?" Adeline couldn’t help but scoff. "You have the nerve to be talking about family with me. What? Are you insecure and jealous? Do you think I’m fucking Darien?" She questioned, her eyes narrowed at him.

Theodore couldn’t reply to her question while she sighed.

"I would never do anything to ruin my family, Theodore. I’m not like you so quit projecting yourself on me. You’re the one who ruined everything we had after you chased after what was under your secretary’s skirt."

That insult gnawed under his skin.

Biting his teeth, he parted his lips to speak. "I’m sorry. I’m sorry that everything had to happen like this. I’m sorry that everything had to happen like this. Please, come back home to me," he pleaded, attempting to snake his arm around hers.

Unfortunately for Theodore, Adeline never asked for his apologies. The damage was already done and there was no way she would be able to forget seeing him buried balls deep into his secretary’s pussy and expect her to forget everything just because he apologized.

"You want me to forgive you?" She asked, her tone suddenly soft and tender like he was used to.

He nodded vehemently.

"Then help me in convincing Ian faster that we’ll never be together again so we can finally get divorced," she said. Instantly, every hope he had left was shattered.

He blinked at her as she got into the car and zoomed off, leaving him dumbfounded.
