Chapter 805: Jason’s Methods | Trafalgar Law’s Scheme
"Ch-Chopper?! Robin?! What happened to you?"
"Hey! Stop joking around, get up!"
Nami stared blankly at the fallen Chopper and Robin. Terror began to seep into her eyes, and her voice trembled.
"It’s no use, beautiful lady," Jason said, walking slowly toward her with a light chuckle. "Unless you have a constitution like Otto’s, don’t expect to recover anytime soon."
As soon as the words left his mouth, Jason’s expression shifted. He dropped low and performed a rapid roll to the side.
Squelch~
Simultaneously, a brilliant flash of a blade cut through the air, striking exactly where Jason had been standing. The sharp wind from the blade carved a shallow groove into the solid wall a meter away.
"I didn’t expect Great Physician Jason to be an Ability User. My mistake," Tashigi said, standing before Nami with Shigure in hand. She looked warily at Jason, who was now crouching several meters away.
"That was close!" Jason patted his chest, heart racing. "Miss Captain, you should know that if you kill me, the consequences would be... very, very severe."
"For the sake of those children, I cannot convince myself to let evil pirates like you live!" Tashigi glared at Jason with hatred, her teeth clenched.
"Children?!" Jason blinked, looking momentarily confused. What children?
But he quickly realized she was referring to the kids Caesar was using as test subjects for his ’Gigantification’ experiments.
"Even if I say it has nothing to do with me, you wouldn’t believe it anyway," Jason shrugged helplessly.
"Hmph!" Tashigi snorted with bitter resentment.
"Fine then."
Jason sighed and pulled a glass vial filled with green liquid from his pocket.
Snap!
He broke the vial in half. The green liquid was exposed to the air and instantly turned into a cloud of green mist.
Inhale...
Jason breathed in, and the green mist vanished into his nose and mouth. Faint green veins pulsed across his face before quickly fading.
RIIIP—
In the next moment, Jason’s body surged with growth. He gained half a meter in height, his clothes tearing as his muscles hardened like granite.
"Get to know the Great Power Potion, Miss Captain," Jason said, his voice dropping into a low, guttural tone.
"Dammit!" Tashigi gritted her teeth, cold sweat beading on her forehead.
...
Building D.
SAD Manufacturing Room.
Thud, thud, thud...
The sonic booms of Geppo rang out. Vergo was flying through the air, propelled like a rocket by the technique.
"The gate has been opened..."
Seeing the open entrance to the manufacturing room, Vergo’s face grew colder as he charged inside.
Thud.
Vergo saw a figure ahead. He landed and said in a heavy voice, "Smoker, you shouldn’t have come here."
"What is this dangerous room all about?" Smoker turned around. He was still observing the massive transparent tubes filled with liquid and the strange, giant machinery inside the hall.
"You don’t know?" Vergo’s expression shifted sharply.
"Vergo, I didn’t want the men to see your true face. they look up to you like a father. There’s no betrayal more painful than that," Smoker said slowly, staring at him. "Since they think you’re an impostor, let’s keep it that way. You impostor... Pirate Vergo!"
"Smoker, tell me... who told you about this place?" Vergo asked, his gaze chillingly cold.
"ROOM!"
Abruptly, a massive dome expanded, enveloping the entire SAD Manufacturing Room.
"LAW!!!"
Vergo’s face changed violently. He reached for his coat pocket.
"Thanks, Smoker!"
Law appeared behind Vergo, holding a cubic, beating heart that had appeared out of thin air. He quickly swept aside his own coat and shoved the heart back into his chest.
"I just don’t like owing favors, especially to pirates," Smoker grunted.
"Your goal was your heart... you really calculated everything, you brat!"
Vergo’s expression turned dark as he turned to look at Law. If he had been on guard, Law, even with the trickery of the Op-Op Fruit, would never have been able to take the heart back. But Smoker’s presence had distracted him, and Law’s sudden ’betrayal’ had left him completely exposed.
"So this is what it feels like to be bitten by your own dog, huh, Law?" Vergo regained his composure, his voice flat. "For a brat’s prank, you’ve gone a bit too far. You’re a bit too clever for your own good. It’s always the clever ones who die the youngest."
"I already had a plan to take my heart back from Caesar. I just didn’t expect you to show up, Vergo," Law said, staring him down. One hand gripped his hilt, the other his scabbard, ready to draw.
"It’s Vergo-san!" Vergo roared in sudden fury. "You betrayed both Doffy and that man. Have you decided how you want to die, Law?"
"I’m going to torture you thoroughly until that arrogant look on your face remembers what true terror feels like!" Vergo pulled out a green bamboo pole, which was instantly coated in pitch-black Armament Haki.
"Just like back then!"
Whoosh—
The moment he finished speaking, Vergo vanished from his spot.
"R..." Law gasped, reaching out to activate his ability.
POW!
As if teleporting, Vergo struck before Law could complete his move. An uppercut caught Law’s jaw, sending him coughing up blood as his body was launched into the air.
"Vergo! Your opponent is me!"
Seeing Vergo attack Law, Smoker couldn’t hold back. He lunged forward, swinging his Sea Prism Stone jitte down toward Vergo’s head.
CLANG!
Vergo spun rapidly, his black bamboo pole intercepting the jitte in a flash of movement. The shockwave of the collision blew outward in a violent gust.
"I’m busy. Does it have to be now, Vice Admiral Smoker?" Vergo said calmly. "Then again, I have to silence you anyway. Doffy would have a headache if that man blamed him for this."
"I’m tired of looking at the trash in my field of vision. Let’s finish this quickly," Smoker snarled. "Pirate Vergo!!!"
"ROOM!!!"
Suddenly, Law’s sphere expanded again, trapping Vergo, Smoker, and the entire SAD room within its bounds.
