Chapter 119 Silver-Armored Swordsman
Chapter 119 Silver-Armored Swordsman
The light curtain carried Feng Tangyue and the silver-armored man through the collapsed underground passage. The darkness and the aura of destruction around them were completely isolated by this light.
Feng Tangyue's heart was still beating wildly. She didn't know who this strange man was or why he suddenly appeared in such a desperate situation.
The man beside him was as cold as ice. He didn't say anything, but just tightly grasped the sword in his hand and looked forward with sharp eyes, as if looking for a way out.
"Who are you?" Feng Tangyue's voice trembled slightly, but she remained calm.
The man did not respond, but continued to move forward in silence, his steps firm and quick.
They were moving at an extremely fast speed, and the surrounding scene passed by quickly like a stream of light. All the sounds of collapse and explosions seemed to be left far behind at this moment.
Feng Tangyue clenched her teeth and tried to hold on to her body which was on the verge of collapse.
Although the man saved her life, she couldn't fully trust this sudden power.
Her gaze quietly fell on the man's sword. The runes inlaid on the silver-white sword were now flickering, as if the power to destroy everything just now still remained.
"Who is he? Why does he have such powerful strength?" Feng Tangyue was full of doubts, but the current situation did not allow her to delve into it further.
Finally, the light curtain in front gradually dissipated, and the surrounding environment changed from a collapsed stone chamber to an empty underground dense forest.
The man in silver armor stopped with her and looked around, as if to make sure the surroundings were safe.
Feng Tangyue took a breath, her body still a little weak. She knew that her strength had been exhausted, and the light of the star core had become extremely dim.
She steadied herself by holding onto a thick tree trunk, her eyes still fixed on the man in silver armor.
"You saved me, but we didn't know each other." Feng Tangyue's voice was a little tentative. She wanted to know who this strong man who suddenly appeared was and why he took action at such a critical moment.
The man in silver armor still had his back to her, his eyes staring coldly into the distance without turning around.
After a moment of silence, he finally spoke: "My name has nothing to do with you."
Feng Tangyue frowned. This answer made her even more confused.
"Then, at least tell me, why did you appear in that abyss? What is the power in your hands?" Her voice remained calm, but her inner alertness was constantly increasing.
The man's fingers gently stroked the hilt of the sword, his voice still cold: "I have my mission. As for power, it comes from a place you cannot understand."
Feng Tangyue's heart suddenly sank. She heard some unfathomable meaning in these words. The appearance of this man did not seem to be just accidental. He seemed to know more about this abyss and even the secrets of the dark seal.
"Do you know the power of this underground seal? Did you know that the darkness was about to collapse?" Feng Tangyue's voice was full of questioning, she wanted to get a clear answer.
The man still did not turn around, but said coldly: "The collapse of darkness is not a momentary thing. Its power has long been growing on this land, and you are just a pawn in this vortex."
"Chess piece?" Feng Tangyue's eyes suddenly turned cold. "What do you mean?"
The man in silver armor finally turned around slowly, his cold eyes staring at Feng Tangyue, his gaze flashing with some unfathomable depth.
"You thought you could stop the darkness on your own, but you are wrong." He said slowly, his tone full of cold reality, "The power of the abyss is far beyond your imagination. Everything you do now is just delaying the inevitable end."
Feng Tangyue's heart was suddenly shaken, but she did not show any sign of retreat. Instead, she said more firmly: "I don't believe in the so-called fate. As long as I am still standing here, darkness will not be able to swallow everything."
The man narrowed his eyes slightly, as if assessing her determination.
"You possess the core of a star, which is a rare power," he whispered, "but even so, you still cannot face the true power of the abyss alone."
Feng Tangyue frowned. She didn't want to believe the stranger in front of her, but she couldn't deny that there was some truth in what he said.
"So, who are you? Why do you have the power to suppress darkness?" She continued to pursue him, wanting to get more information from him.
A complex emotion flashed across the man's eyes, but he quickly regained his composure.
"My mission is to cut off the source of darkness," he whispered, with a hint of murderous intent in his voice, "but there are some things you shouldn't know."
Feng Tangyue was about to continue asking questions when suddenly, a low vibration sound came from the dense forest in the distance.
The expression of the man in silver armor suddenly turned cold. He turned around quickly and looked sharply in the direction where the voice came from.
"Oh no." There was a hint of urgency in his voice, "The forces of darkness have not completely disappeared. They are chasing us."
Feng Tangyue felt the approaching danger and her face darkened.
She took a deep breath and quickly regained her composure: "Whatever it is, we have to get out of here."
The man nodded and looked around quickly, as if looking for a way out.
"This underground forest is not safe. We must find an exit as soon as possible." He said, his voice cold and decisive.
Feng Tangyue clenched the star core in her hand. Although her strength had not yet fully recovered, she knew that at this moment she could only follow this mysterious man in silver armor.
The two men quickly passed through the dense forest, the ground beneath their feet still shaking slightly, as if some terrifying existence was approaching.
Not far away, a faint light appeared at the end of the dense forest. That was their only exit.
Feng Tangyue and the man looked at each other, and they both quickened their pace and headed straight for the faint light.
However, just as they were about to rush out of the dense forest, the darkness behind them suddenly broke out.
A huge dark beast shadow broke out from the ground, its ink-black eyes burning with scarlet light, like a demon from the abyss.
"Go!" The man in silver armor shouted, unsheathed his sword, and silver light flashed like thunder, pointing directly at the dark beast shadow.
Feng Tangyue said nothing more and quickly soared into the air. The light of the star core burst out in her hands again, and she and the man in silver armor faced the dark beast at the same time.
