Chapter 150 Beta's Fear
Chapter 150 Beta's Fear
The capital of the Elven Kingdom of Saint Tian, named Erline, is a miraculous city nestled in a verdant forest. It is not only the political center of the Elven Kingdom but also a model of harmonious coexistence between art, magic, and nature—at least it once was.
The city's silhouette, bathed in sunlight, appears as if sculpted from countless crystals and emeralds. Towering towers and spired palaces are constructed from silvery-white moonstone and pale green emerald, these precious stones shimmering with a soft, mysterious light in the sun.
The walls of Erin are not made of bricks and stones, but of enormous ancient trees. Their trunks are closely intertwined, and their roots are deeply embedded in the earth, forming a natural and indestructible barrier. Various flowers and vines climb these ancient trees, creating a magnificent sea of flowers every spring.
At the heart of the city stands a magnificent palace called the Emerald Palace. Its dome is composed of countless meticulously cut crystals, through which sunlight filters through, casting dappled patterns of light that sparkle like a starry sky. Every inch of the palace's walls is adorned with carvings of the history and legends of the Elven Kingdom, each mural telling an ancient story.
The streets of Erin are wide and clean, paved with smooth cobblestones, and lined with exquisite elven houses and shops. The houses are designed with natural elements in mind, many with balconies entwined with vines and windowsills decorated with flowers, as if each building were an integral part of nature.
The city's water supply system cleverly utilizes the natural terrain, with clear streams and waterfalls flowing through the city, bringing life and vitality. The fairies built small bridges and pavilions along these waterways for the citizens to rest and enjoy themselves.
However, the Kingdom of Saint-Tian is now embroiled in war, all thanks to the Demonic Order.
Looking at the familiar royal city, Beta was filled with emotion.
She was born here, and has been bound to this place for over a hundred years.
He himself was the one who ignited the conflict that plunged the country into chaos, nothing more.
Even without his elopement triggering a series of butterfly effects, this country would have eventually fallen into such a predicament.
Because this country is already very corrupt, a country where a king has ruled Saint-Tian for hundreds of years, and there has never been a change of the throne.
This so-called emperor of all time was merely a product of a fantasy world where the ruling power of the royal family was so strong that it couldn't be overthrown by a peasant uprising.
In this world, the change of nations has basically only occurred when foreign invasions led to the decline or even demise of the royal family, or when inadequate checks and balances on the nobility allowed them to become powerful enough to successfully rebel.
Her father, Elandil Wendy, was just an old man who had lived too long and whose mind was no longer quite right.
Lord Demon Shadow approved of her elopement and did not consider her a vixen who brought ruin to the country. As long as she had his approval, she would not care about the opinions of others.
I don't need to live for the kingdom or the race; I only need to live for myself and for Lord Shadow.
Having figured this out, Beta no longer experiences self-blame that leads to mental exhaustion, even though she wasn't particularly prone to self-blame to begin with.
But it would be best to remove a thorn buried deep in one's heart.
Gray's purpose in coming here was to discuss the suppression of the rebellion with the Elf King. In reality, he wanted the Kingdom of Saint-Tian to mobilize all its forces to fight the rebels, and also to use this as an excuse to avoid Capa.
"Should we go and discuss this with Father?" Beta's beautiful eyes were filled with reluctance.
This is a suppression based on bloodline. Even though Beta's strength as a professional is now far superior to that of the Elf King, the aura of "Father" still makes her unable to lift her head.
She had been contacting Elandil while masked, and he was unaware of her true identity, but a slight fear still lingered in her heart.
The process is the same as when entering a front-line town: show your token to the guard and you will be able to proceed without any obstacles.
After all, the Shadow Court, which was willing to help the Kingdom of Saint-Tian quell the rebellion, was the big father of the royal faction, and they dared not be negligent in any way.
Gray suddenly looked at Beta beside him and asked, "Are you afraid of your father?"
Upon hearing this, Beta immediately lowered his head, his voice as faint as the fluttering of an insect's wings: "It is a little..."
Gray looked at Beta trembling and thought to himself, "This is more than just a little bit..."
This is not okay.
Gray asked Beta, "Do you want to overcome your fear of him?"
Beta nodded vigorously, looking cowardly but also thinking of turning the tables.
“Then do as I say later,” Gray said.

In the Emerald Palace of Erin, Elvenking Elandil Wendy hosted a banquet in the Moonlight Hall to welcome two black-robed guests who had traveled from afar. This hall, named for the crystal slabs in its dome, was bathed in a dreamlike glow whenever moonlight shone upon it.
The Moonlight Hall was decorated with extraordinary splendor. Exquisite silk curtains, vibrant in color, hung on the walls, embroidered with the emblems of the Elven Kingdom and symbols of peace. In the center of the hall, a long table was covered with a snow-white tablecloth, upon which were placed delicate silverware and porcelain. At the center of the table stood a huge chandelier carved from crystal, casting a soft and warm light.
Elvenking Elandil Wendy, dressed in a long golden robe and wearing an emerald brooch symbolizing his royal power, stood at the entrance of the hall, awaiting their arrival. His silver hair shimmered softly in the lamplight.
The guards were incredibly fast at relaying messages; the news reached Elendil Wendy's ears as soon as the two entered the royal city.
When the two men in black robes appeared at the entrance to the hall, all the elves fell silent. These two guests, clad in long black robes with their faces hidden beneath deep hoods, did not appear to be benevolent.
Oh, it's the Demon King and his retinue. To humans, they are indeed a formidable foe.
But this was the Kingdom of Saint-Tian, the elven kingdom, and the elves were not wary of the two men in black robes who had appeared.
After all, if it weren't for the help of the Shadow Court, the front line would probably have collapsed long ago.
Elendil Wendy stepped forward, showing none of the airs of an Elf King, and greeted them with a smile, "Welcome to Erin, esteemed attendants. I have prepared a simple feast to entertain you both; please take your seats."
Beta actually found it quite amusing that Old Deng, who used to be so strict with her, was now greeting her with a smile.
However, fearing her identity would be exposed, she remained unwilling to have much contact with Elendil Wendy.
The banquet began amidst the graceful dance of the elven maidens.
