Chapter 1944 - 944: The Undying Wan Yan Yong

Ye Qing hid in the Stone Corridor, observing Wan Yan Yong's every move.Although Wan Yan Yong was very excited upon seeing the stone coffin, he didn't rush towards it. Instead, he carefully observed his surroundings first. It seemed that the traps he encountered outside made him even more cautious and vigilant, not daring to be careless in the slightest.

After carefully observing the surroundings and confirming there were no traps, Wan Yan Yong finally took a deep breath. He slowly entered the tomb chamber, taking each step with extreme caution, not daring to make any large movements. Each step was a test to see if any mechanisms would be triggered. At the same time, he gathered all his strength, ready at any moment to retreat back to the original stone gate.

He walked for about a minute before reaching the spot in front of the stone coffin where there was an inscription. Wan Yan Yong clearly saw these inscriptions, looked at them carefully for a moment, paused slightly in silence, and then walked from the left towards the stone coffin.

Ye Qing's heart skipped a beat. It seemed that Wan Yan Yong wasn't stupid; he knew that Master Duwang definitely wouldn't harm his own disciple. So, choosing to walk from the left was undoubtedly the safest choice.

Even though it seemed safe, Wan Yan Yong still proceeded cautiously, observing and paying attention at every step. Fortunately, he didn't encounter any special surprises along the way and reached the side of the stone coffin. Soon, his attention was captivated by the lid of the stone coffin. Undoubtedly, he must have seen the Tianzhu Sword Technique on the lid!

Ye Qing's heart skipped when he saw this from outside. If Wan Yan Yong obtained this Tianzhu Sword Technique, it would be a troublesome matter. If he got the Tianzhu Sword, wouldn't he also be able to wield it?

However, although Ye Qing was worried, he had no solution. Wan Yan Yong was seriously injured, but Ye Qing knew clearly that he was definitely not his match. After all, Wan Yan Yong was a Peak Master, and even with just one hand, he could defeat Ye Qing as he was now. So, Ye Qing could only watch the situation from behind the stone gate, not daring to enter recklessly or alert Wan Yan Yong.

Wan Yan Yong spent about half an hour inside, and it seemed he finally memorized the Tianzhu Sword Technique. Ye Qing had only used less than ten minutes for this, but Wan Yan Yong's memory couldn't compare to Ye Qing at all.

After memorizing the Tianzhu Sword Technique, Wan Yan Yong was visibly very happy, and his previously unpleasant expression transformed into excitement. He placed his right hand on the stone coffin, lost in thought, and suddenly let out a light shout. He raised his right hand and forcefully pressed down on the stone coffin lid.

Ye Qing saw clearly from outside, and when he saw Wan Yan Yong suddenly exert force on the stone coffin lid, he was startled. It was clear that Wan Yan Yong intended to destroy the lid and thus obliterate the Tianzhu Sword Technique. One had to admit, Wan Yan Yong was indeed a schemer. After memorizing the Tianzhu Sword Technique, he wanted to destroy it, planning to keep it entirely to himself. That way, even if someone else entered this tomb later, they would never obtain the Tianzhu Sword Technique!

Although Wan Yan Yong had a clever plan, the stone coffin lid was not that fragile. Despite his forceful slam, the lid didn't move at all, withstanding his strength as if it hadn't borne any impact.

"Eh?" Wan Yan Yong exclaimed softly, evidently unable to believe it. He raised his hand again and slammed down forcefully, but the result was the same as before. He couldn't shatter the stone coffin lid.

Ye Qing observed all of this from outside and was quite shocked. He knew well the strength of a Peak Master. With Wan Yan Yong's powerful slam, even a large stone should at least have fractured. Yet, the stone coffin lid, being so thin, remained unmoved, which was quite astonishing. What kind of material was the stone coffin lid made of to withstand such tremendous force?

After two failed attempts to shatter the lid, Wan Yan Yong realized something was wrong. He bent over and closely examined the lid, lost in thought. After a while, he suddenly grabbed the edge of the lid and pulled upward with force, appearing to try to open the coffin.

Seeing Wan Yan Yong's actions, Ye Qing's heart skipped again. If Wan Yan Yong opened the stone coffin and saw the wooden box inside, he would surely be very puzzled. If he discovered clues of the Buddha's Relic, it would be even more troublesome.

Fortunately, despite pulling with force, the stone coffin lid did not move at all, as if it had fused with the coffin. This only added to Wan Yan Yong's confusion. He shook it with force, only to find the stone coffin wouldn't budge in the slightest, as if it had become one with its surroundings. Moreover, the coffin lid didn't move at all, as if it was one with the coffin.

Ye Qing finally understood why walking from the left side made it impossible to obtain the items inside the stone coffin. Approaching from the left, the lid of the stone coffin wouldn't pop open. It was impossible for outsiders to open the stone coffin with external force. It was unknown what material the stone coffin was made of, but even a Peak Master couldn't shatter it. Apparently, even with a Famed Instrument, it wouldn't be possible to split open this stone coffin.

Wan Yan Yong tried several times, and when he found he couldn't open the coffin lid, he had no choice but to accept it. He took a few deep breaths, slowly retreated from the side of the stone coffin, and stood in front of the inscriptions from earlier, watching for a while, then suddenly turned and walked towards the stone coffin from the right.

Seeing Wan Yan Yong's actions, Ye Qing's heart skipped a beat. Wan Yan Yong was truly astute; after walking by the left, he tried the right again. This was good; by walking from the right, the lid of the stone coffin would open, and he would see what was inside!

Sure enough, when Wan Yan Yong walked to the side of the stone coffin from the right, the lid of the stone coffin popped open directly. Wan Yan Yong, who had been vigilantly observing everything around him, was startled when the lid suddenly opened. He quickly stepped back a bit, watching the stone coffin warily. After a while, ensuring there was no danger from the stone coffin, he cautiously approached the front of the coffin.

Wan Yan Yong wanted to see what was inside the stone coffin, and now that the lid had opened, he finally had a chance. But when he clearly saw what was inside, his expression changed dramatically, just like when Ye Qing first saw the inside. After all, there was no corpse inside, only a wooden box, which was quite shocking for anyone to accept.

Wan Yan Yong walked to the side of the stone coffin and took out the wooden box. However, at this moment, the wooden box was already empty, and of course, he couldn't find anything. Turning the box over carefully, Wan Yan Yong suddenly struck the bottom of the box forcefully.

Ye Qing didn't know what Wan Yan Yong intended to do, but after Wan Yan Yong struck it, the wooden box shattered immediately. The bottom cracked, and a piece of silk cloth fell out. Although Ye Qing stood quite far away, he could clearly see that there were words written on that silk cloth!

Inside the wooden box, there was still such an item, which Ye Qing hadn't noticed earlier. He watched as Wan Yan Yong picked up the silk cloth. After reading it briefly, Wan Yan Yong's expression changed suddenly. Then, he abruptly threw away the silk cloth, turned, and plunged towards the stone coffin, frantically searching for something inside.

Although Ye Qing didn't know what was written on the silk cloth, judging from Wan Yan Yong's behavior, he was certain it was related to the Buddha's Relic. Wan Yan Yong's desperate search inside the stone coffin was definitely for the Buddha's Relic. He didn't know that the Buddha's Relic had already been taken by Ye Qing and thought it had fallen out of the wooden box into the stone coffin.

However, the stone coffin was only so large, and it was empty inside. Wan Yan Yong couldn't find anything despite his search. Ye Qing watched, and Wan Yan Yong busied himself for quite some time, finding nothing. Yet, Ye Qing suddenly felt something amiss, as Wan Yan Yong's hair began to turn white.

Wan Yan Yong was no young man, a generation older than Prince Wan Yan. But externally, he didn't look that old, and his hair was black. However, in that short while, much of his hair had turned white, visibly, his entire head appeared ash-gray, which was very bizarre.

Watching this change in Wan Yan Yong, Ye Qing felt a stir within. Wan Yan Yong was obviously aging rapidly, similar to what happened in the Stone Corridor when he first entered. His hair was turning white visibly, and he was aging very quickly.

Ye Qing was shocked; he didn't know what had happened. It seemed the eerie force from the Stone Corridor had entered this tomb chamber, causing Wan Yan Yong to age as well. But how had this force come about?

Ye Qing looked around and suddenly noticed the presence of many black plants around the tomb chamber. Each of these plants bore a black blossom, looking extremely eerie in the dark.

Ye Qing was startled, remembering clearly that when he entered the tomb chamber, there were no such plants around. Yet suddenly, there were so many black plants. What was going on?

Could it be he was mistaken, and these flowers had been in the tomb chamber all along?
